In 1995 I started repairing cotton candy machines. Eventually I got a few machines of my own and my family enjoyed making and selling the fluffy spun sugar at rodeos, carnivals, fairs and even selling it wholesale to the dollar store. As time went by cotton candy became boring to me until someone sent me a picture of a man in Asia making flowers out of the sugary floss, and asked if I could do that. I tried and tried to get it to work but finally came to the conclusion that it couldn't be made with the side discharge machines. I couldn't find anyone in the USA who was making this. A few years later I heard that Epcot Center had an Asian Festival for a couple weeks where they had these featured for a limited time.
As I have researched, I also found someone in New York City doing artistic cotton candy as a street vendor. I realized part of the reason nobody was making this type of cotton candy is because the top discharge machines are not made in the USA and are not UL listed, and they have a very limited distribution of imported machines in the USA. I originally thought of importing machines to help others get started in the "Edible Expressions" business. The more I looked into it the more I was against that idea. They are light-duty machines with a 90 day warranty to the original purchaser only. I want a robust machine that will last through grueling non-stop events and be dependable. In 2020 I decided with 25 years experience working on these machines, who better than myself to build the machine and share it with the world. I am currently seeking the funding to develop and produce this machine.
